It's an exciting time to join the Nutrition Services Division (NSD)! We are making history by supporting schools statewide to implement California's Universal Meals Program, ensuring students have access to a breakfast and lunch at no cost each school day. We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative professional to join the Education and Nutrition Policy Unit-School Nutrition Programs (ENPU-SNP).

This position serves as the Program Policy & Training Support Analyst providing analytical, policy, training, and technical support for key areas of the School Nutrition Programs. Duties include researching and analyzing policy, developing and delivering trainings, managing web content and accessibility compliance, administering the learning management system, and providing technical assistance to schools and school districts.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in the Sacramento area. The current hybrid telework schedule requires a minimum of two days per week reporting to the office in person, with the possibility of four days per week in office starting in 2027. This position requires up to 10 percent travel.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary range(s) shown on this job posting does not reflect the salary reduction.

Working Conditions

TELEWORK OPTION

HYBRID

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. Currently, the hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of two days per week in the office.

Effective oral and written communication and analytical skills.

Well-developed organizational and time management skills.

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Canva, Adobe CC Pro Plus, Snap Survey, Cornerstone Learning Management System, or similar products.

Proficient in the requirements for online content and document compliance with the Americans with Disabilities act.

Ability to create and present training materials and resources for a variety of skill levels and audiences.

Ability to conduct analytical research and create reports, recommendations, and presentations using data. Strong attention to detail.

Must be able to collaborate effectively with others, utilize group problem-solving techniques, and remain flexible with changing priorities.

Must be able to build and maintain professional relationships.
