Job Summary:

The Intermediate Front End Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing user interface components using modern web technologies. This role requires hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, as well as knowledge of Agile methodologies. The developer will work within large teams to build responsive, accessible, and optimized web applications while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards such as AODA/WCAG 2.0 AA.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement front end code including user interface interactions and attractive, effective user interfaces.
• Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications through detailed programming specifications, coding, compiling, and unit testing.
• Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues during software use, including implementation, conversion, and migrations.
• Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document applications using modern development tools and methodologies.
• Develop responsive web applications with cross-browser compatibility and page load optimization.
• Work with RESTful APIs and Jamstack architecture.
• Support AODA compliance and accessibility standards implementation.
• Engage with external third parties for partnerships, licensing, beta programs, and product strategy.
• Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 1+ years of experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Node.js (including NPM), and RESTful Web services.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and large team environments.
• Hands-on experience with responsive design, front-end testing, debugging techniques, and version control (e.g., Bitbucket).
• Knowledge of Jamstack architecture.
• Experience with Java programming (1+ years) and related IDE tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, IBM RAD, or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience with Oracle database and SQL including tables, views, stored procedures, and triggers (1+ years).
• Demonstrated experience with AODA/WCAG 2.0 AA compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Next.js and Spring Framework (MVC, Security, JPA, Boot).
• Knowledge of Hibernate/JPA and Maven build tools.
• Experience with middleware, gateways, and rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
• Familiarity with social media APIs and complex large-scale web systems.
• Understanding of Information Management principles and accessibility regulations.
• Experience conducting design walkthroughs and creating user/system documentation.

Special Considerations:

• Must comply with accessibility standards, specifically AODA/WCAG 2.0 AA.
• Work may require collaboration across multiple teams within a large organization.
• Strong emphasis on meeting deadlines and maintaining effective communication.
